Principles of Safer Handling. Inanimate Practical: - Practice of Principals without Load/with Load: - To & from Waist Height. To from Floor Level. Pushing/Pulling.
Team Handling.
People Handling Practical: - Rolling the Resident. Turning the Resident with Sliding Sheets. Moving the supine Resident up the bed with Sliding Sheets.
Mobilising the Resident with Zimmer Frame/Rollator.
Assisting the seated Resident to move up the bed.
Sitting the Resident at the side of the bed from forwards sitting.
Sitting to standing using the Handling Belt.
Walking the Resident and lowering into a chair.
Management of the falling Resident.
Hoist Training which includes Full Body Hoist, Standing Hoist, Sara Steady, Ceiling Hoist and the Principles in the use of Hoists.
Problem Solving in relation to managing Residents with Behavioural and Psychological Symptoms of Dementia (BPSD).

€500 per group (maximum 15 attendees of which no more than 12 can be Clinical staff - The first 2.5 hours is Inanimate handling, the Clinical staff then stay on for another 2.5 hours for the People handling)

Course Description
This course is designed to teach for healthcare workers how to safely move and handle patients under the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 and Manual Handling Regulations 1993 and 2007.
